Junior Studio | Term Program
2026 | Saturdays OR Sundays 10am-12pm
The ART101 Studios Junior Program focuses on the fundamentals - sketching/drawing, values, colour theory, composition and best studio practice, as well as technical skill and understanding of mediums with the use of graphite, charcoal, watercolour and soft pastels.
The studio objective is to establish a solid foundation and skill gathering, with comprehension of methods and strategies, technical proficiency, theoretical understanding , appreciation of art history and the master artists.
Our junior artists build confidence, develop competence and acquire a multifaceted appreciation of authentic contemporary and classical fine arts practice.

As much as the program is fun, it is also very much about developing authentic fine art skills and an artist's eye.
To keep projects interesting and stimulating, students work from both printed reference as well as 3D objects covering a variety of subjects and styles including: still life; landscapes; portraiture; fauna & flora; representational realism; stylisation through to abstraction.

MATERIALS
It is a requirement that students have their own materials and tools for use in the studio and at home. This instils a sense of responsibility and facilitates further practice outside of the studio.
We've shopped around for you and found the best value without compromising quality (plus the convenience of home delivery).
The following list links to each product on Amazon Australia who offer free delivery for Prime members and purchases over a certain amount. Some items may come from international Amazon stores so it is best to order at least 2-3 weeks in advance to allow for any delay in delivery.
If any items on the list are out of stock, do contact us as soon as possible for a recommended suitable alternative.
It is important for your young artist to have all of the items on the list as we do not provide these in the studio.
