PASTEL PENCIL Drawing Youth Studio Art Classes

Saturdays OR Sundays
12 - 2pm OR 2 - 4pm

The pastel pencil drawing studio is open to students who have first completed our Charcoal program. After learning the fundamentals of the medium on set exercises, this term program allows for students to direct their learning with free choice of subject (reference material).

Students will develop a solid understanding of process from concept, execution to completion.

Including:
Practical Skills
Technical Understanding
Drawing Strategies
Reference Gathering
Composition Planning/Photography
Best Studio Practice & Safety

Our mixed discipline Youth Studio classes consist of artists working in a variety of mediums and each student is taught as an individual as well as limited group instruction. Each student is at a different point along the learning timeline and are encouraged to view each other’s works at the end of each session in order to inspire one another. From time to time, senior students assist newer students in order to reinforce their own understanding.

Each year there are several art awards that students are encouraged to participate with entries, should they wish to compete. Our more experienced students enjoy commissions from friends and the wider community.

TERM FEES

The studio term runs for 9 weeks during Qld state school terms.

The term fee is $500, payable in full at time of booking in order to secure a space. Advance booking is required as places are strictly limited and fill quickly.

Please note that returning students are invited to reenrol before spaces are opened for new students on the waitlist. Returning student places must kindly be paid for in full by the due date on the invoice, unfortunately failure to do so will see your child’s place offered to new students.

Parents are welcome to enrol with their child for the Youth Studio programs. We encourage you to arrive early when collecting, from time to time, so as to provide you with a progress update. We are committed to your child’s success and open, regular communication ensures this.

As artists’ progress is accelerated with at home practice, students require their own materials and tools for use in the studio and at home.

The list is available from Amazon with links below. Some items may come from Amazon international stores so it is best to order 2-3 weeks in advance to ensure delivery before commencement of the term. Free delivery is available to Prime members and orders over $59 (at time of publishing).

Materials list can be found here.

PLEASE NOTE:

*This is a term program which is time-limited/date specific and there are no 'make-up' sessions or credits brought forward to the following term for missed classes, regardless of reason for absence.

*Term fees will not be adjusted for planned absences as your child’s place is reserved for the entirety of the term program.

*In the unlikely event that we have to cancel a class (extreme weather, public emergency/health directive etc), an alternative date and time will be scheduled before the next term.

*Unfortunately we do not offer ‘trial’ or casual classes.

Please refer to our full Terms & Conditions BEFORE booking.
