Sketching is a fundamental skill necessary for all other fine art disciplines. The first step in any artwork creation is sketching studies and ideas. This program is for absolute newbies who need confidence and a solid understanding of the basics.
Students will learn various spatial reasoning strategies and practical methods of application (graphite & charcoal) so as to draw accurately and confidently.
The artist's eye is developed to see the necessary information of any given subject and how to translate that to paper. Exercises include drawing from life and printed reference material.

Our studio sessions are limited to 12 students and classes are purchased in either a 10 ($550) or 20 ($999) consecutive week class block. Payment for a full class block must be made when you attend your first session. We do not offer digital/electronic payment options, trial classes or casual sessions.
There are no make up sessions or credits brought forward for missed classes, irrespective of reason for absence. Please ensure you are able to attend for the duration of your class block.
In the unlikely event that a class is cancelled by the studio (eg. extreme weather or public emergency), an additional week will be added to the class block duration.
