SKETCH & DRAW Foundation Skills

Saturdays OR Sundays
12 - 2pm OR 2 - 4pm
Sketching is a fundamental skill necessary for all other fine art disciplines. The first step in any artwork creation is sketching studies and ideas. This program is for absolute newbies who need confidence and a solid understanding of the basics.
Students will learn various spatial reasoning strategies and practical methods of application (graphite & charcoal) so as to draw accurately and confidently.
The artist's eye is developed to see the necessary information of any given subject and how to translate that to paper. Exercises include drawing from life and printed reference material.

As students' progress is accelerated with at home practice, you will need your own materials for use in the studio and at home. The list links directly to Amazon. Be sure to order at least 2-3 weeks in advance of your start date so as to ensure timely delivery.
Please be aware that most art stores do not stock some products on the materials list and all too often recommend inappropriate substitutes that may need to be returned.
